This spot is a six hour horseback ride from the nearest road in the northwest part of Jasper National Park in Canada. It took getting up at 5am and hiking to my predetermined location in the dark to get this shot. The print is a combination of two separate exposures so that the details and colors of the foreground and sky could be preserved. It was a truly exhilarating experience to see the first light of the day hit the mountains and allow me to capture this image.
